Gardner Dickinson competed on the PGA tour from 1956 to 1971, capping his career in 1971 by defeating Jack Nicklaus at the Atlanta Classic in a sudden death playoff. As someone who has carried a passion for the game of golf for more years than I care to admit, I believe Mr. Dickinson captured the essence of the game of golf in those sixteen simple words.
This blog is dedicated to honoring that sentiment about one of the few games, if not the only game ever devised by mankind, about which such a claim can be made with little if any exaggeration.
